White Rock Entertainment Options
What do you think of when you hear the word entertainment? For many, music springs to mind, and if that’s the case, then White Rock is the right place to be on almost any dayai??i??and nightai??i??of the week. Pubs, clubs, jazz bars, blues bars, karaoke bars, are dotted all over this picturesque seaside community. White Rock may be small (population 17,000), but that doesn’t mean it’s not lively! This thriving city is blessed with a large number of home grown musicians, and thet can often be found playing in various venues throughout the Lower Mainland, as well as in White Rock itself. For those who prefer their music in the daylight hours, the White Rock Waterfront Concert Series features acoustic groups and musicians performing at the waterfront plaza every weekend afternoon in July and August (weather permitting). Most venues can be found along the waterfront on Marine Drive and along Johnston Road in White Rock extending to 152 Street South Surrey. So take a stroll by and listen for the music or check some of the resources on this site or at the bottom of this page before heading out.
White Rock also boasts an excellent theatre group, the White Rock Players Club. They perform live theatre and pantomimes several times each year at the Coast Capital Playhouse. Season tickets are available, and discounts are offered for students and seniors.
Another attraction is the Historic Stewart Farm, located in the Elgin Heritage Park near Crescent Beach. Established in 1880, a thriving and successful hay farm was run here for more than six decades. Now, visitors can see first hand what life was like back at the turn of the 20th century.
Sporting venues are plentiful in White Rock, too, including all things to do with beachfront activities, and with Vancouver just a stone’s throw down the road, major professional sporting events are close to hand.
So whatever your taste in entertainment, night or day, and regardless of the season, White Rock won’t be found wanting. There truly is something for everyone.
